Since I started with Soul&Spice I have been receiving all kinds of questions and a very recurring one is if I could recommend good books on my topic. So I thought I’d make a post to inspire y’all beautiful women!
Books can change lives. Here are the books that completely changed and healed my vision on sexuality and womanhood -which I am grateful for to such an extent that it became my own mission to bring this to other people. So: welcometo my sexy bookshelf…
Tantra. Cult of the Feminine. (André van Lysebeth).
.
André van Lysebeth is a leading European author on all that concerns yoga and tantra. Yes, he’s Belgian, like me, woop woop! ;-) He’s basically the one who brought it all to Europe, he founded the Belgian Yoga Federation and the European Yoga Foundation.
His Tantra book is considered the classic text on the topic. It really is the best introduction you could possibly get because of the wide perspective on tantra it gives. The sexual practices are framed into the larger tantric ideology which makes it stand out of the crowd of tantra books that are porn in comic book format.
Personally, I was blown away by the mind-bending view on life, the universe and sex that tantra has to offer. This book totally opened up my idea of sexuality. I felt such a relief, unconsciously I had been looking for this information for so long.
Beyond tantra. Healing through Taoist Sacred Sex. (Stephan and Mieke Wik)
.
The best thing about this book is that it is written by a couple so you get both his and her side of their story of discovering sacred sex. They are so honest and open about everything: their formerly extinct love life, her affair with another man, the failures and doubts when starting to practice sacred sex, the victories, telling the kids, etc.
The second best thing is that they lead you gradually into a deep understanding of sacred sex through simple and meaningful exercices.
This combined with their honesty made it very accessible for me and my man. Coz ladies, you might experience that men are initially rather sceptical and defensive when it comes to sacred sex. But this book will undoubtedly win them over because there’s a man in there saying that he too was sceptical -”I was blown away but still a sceptical voice in my head wondered what kind of bullshit I was reading”-, admitting that it wasn’t at all easy -”To be honest, the first results weren’t a blast” but acknowledging that it was so worth it -”she has more sexual energy and vitality than women who are thirty years younger than her, she looks ten years younger, our relationship has changed for the better, I am in a better physical and mental condition, and last but not least: sex with her is awesome.”
The Sexual Teachings of the White Tigress (Hsi Lai)
.
.
If there is a book that is about to overrule anything you knew on female sexuality, here you have it.
Also recommended if you want to know how giving head can make you look ten years younger or why semantically the greek word Christus (Christ) means anointed with semen.
The sexual practices of the White Tigresses are exclusively aimed to reaching the highest spiritual level: immortality. Hsi Wang Mu is their matriarch, she reached immortality and perfection by absorbing the semen of a thousand men. Do try this at home ;-)
Red Moon. Understanding and using the creative, sexual and spiritual gifts of the menstrual cycle. (Miranda Gray)
.
.
Miranda Gray did an incredible job writing this book on women’s cyclic nature. I already knew everything there was to know about the physical, emotional and energetic consequences of our cycle but she wrote this book in such a deep, magical, cyclic and female way that it dripped straight into my woman’s soul and I finally understood and integrated it on a deep subconscious level.
On top of this, she manages to translate the deepest wisdom contained in this book into daily practice advice. But then the daily practice that actually works for women.
I cannot possibly explain it in a few words, she’s just magical. Go read her.
Dear lover. A Women’s Guide to Men, Sex and Love’s Deepest Bliss. (David Deida)
&
The Way of the Superior Man. A Spiritual Guide to Mastering the Challenges of Women, Work and Sexual Desire. (David Deida)
One for women, one for men, these are the two books if you want to know the fundamentals of being a woman and being a man. Read both.
Being a woman and reading The Way of the Superior Man will get you understand deeply what it is to be a man, what it is they need, what it is they hunger for.
Being a man and reading Dear Lover will make you understand a woman’s heart, what she needs from you and what she seeks in this world. Mind you, these books contain information you have never ever read before, your world might end upside down. Which is awesome.
Dear Lover is the first book in my life that made me cry from cover to cover. Tears of deep recognition, tears of deep understanding, tears of deep releasing. It is hard to understand that a man knows so well the depths of a woman’s heart. Utterly utterly beautiful and mandatory book. Goosebumps rally.
The Multi-Orgasmic Couple: Sexual Secrets Every Couple Should Know. (Mantak Chia)
.
And as I’m in constant research, this unmissable book is on it’s way to my book-shelf, I’m expecting it by tomorrow! It’s written by Mantak Chia, an unmistakable authority on sacred sex. With subtitles like…
- Better than Chocolate, Better than Coffee: Expanding your Orgasms and your Energy
- Tongue Kung Fu: Oral Sex on Women
- Mouth Kung Fu: Oral Sex on Men
- Multi-Orgasmic Quickies and Marathons
- Cultivating Self-Love
- Cultivating Love for Each Other
- Being Sexual without Doing It
- Lifelong lovemaking
…it cannot be missing on my erotic bookshelf!! I’ll be sharing experiences soon!
.
These books are a well of inspiration and wisdom for me.
May they be the same for you.
Do not forget to come back and report! ;-)
Lots of love and afterglow,
Nele x

There is also a 12 week online course on Saida’s website. Plus she gives workshops (I attended the one in Amsterdam, but I know she also comes to Brussels every year). This stuff sure changed my life…
And thank you for this blog, I have been enjoying it so much.
